Day 1: Calgary

Arrive in Calgary and collect your rental car. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore Calgary. Enjoy your complimentary admission to the Calgary Tower.

Day 2: Calgary to Lake Louise

This morning begin your journey from Calgary through beautiful Kananaskis Country and the ranching regions of Alberta before arriving in Lake Louise. Enjoy an afternoon lakeshore stroll around Lake Louise, or for the more adventurous, a hike up to Lady Agnes Tea House (1-2 hours one way). Overnight in Lake Louise.

Day 3: Lake Louise to Kananaskis

Once departing Lake Louise take a leisurely drive along the Bow Valley Parkway for views of Castle Mountain and Johnston Canyon where you can take an easy 20 minute stroll to the lower falls or a moderate 45 minute trek to the spectacular upper waterfalls. On route to Kananaskis, you will drive by Banff where you can stop to explore this historic town. While in Banff you can visit Canada's very first Hot Springs, take a ride up to the top of Sulphur Mountain to enjoy the stunning views or take a leisurely stroll along Banff Avenue. Visit the must see World Famous 'Castle in the Rockies' Banff Springs hotel. Enjoy the magnificent areas of this iconic property rich in history while enjoying the stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Other local attractions include Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner and Hoodoo's.

Day 4: Kananaskis to Kananaskis

Today is yours to enjoy one of Alberta's biggest recreational playgrounds. There are plenty of paved pathways for easy hiking, or rugged trails for the more adventurous. Cycle through the evergreen valleys past glacial streams on many kilometers of paved trails. For the avid Fisherman, hike into the high Alpine Lake or just cast off the shores of the Kananaskis Lakes. Play the 36-hole golf course, or take a trail ride by horse through the Kananaskis Valley ending with the thrill of white water rafting on the Kananaskis River. However you decide to spend your day, this unspoiled area of pristine wilderness has everything to offer to reconnect you with nature and the natural beauty of the Canadian Rockies. Overnight in Kananaskis.

Day 5: Kananaskis to Kamloops

Day 5 Banff to Kamloops After returning your rental car at the Rocky Mountaineer station in Banff, travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the mountain town of Banff to Kamloops, in the heart of the BC Interior. Enjoy the spectacular array of scenery as you travel between the glacier and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies, over mountain passes and through remarkable tunnels, along rocky lakeshores and across the ranchlands of the Interior. Today's highlights include the Continental Divide, the Spiral Tunnels, Kicking Horse Canyon, Rogers Pass, and Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven. Breakfast and lunch are served onboard the train. Overnight in Kamloops. Please note all accommodations in Kamloops are of a moderate standard.

Day 6: Kamloops to Vancouver

Your journey continues towards the Pacific Ocean and the coastal city of Vancouver. You will again see dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the Interior, through winding river canyons and pristine forests, to the Coast and Cascade Mountains and the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley. Highlights include the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon. Breakfast and lunch served onboard the train. Your rail journey ends on arrival in Vancouver. Overnight in Vancouver.

Day 7: Vancouver

Your vacation ends upon checkout from your Vancouver hotel.
