Day 1: Vancouver

Arrive in Vancouver and spend time exploring this scenic city on your own. Overnight in Vancouver.

Day 2: Vancouver to Vancouver

Today, select your choice of one of two culinary activity options: 1. 'Made in BC' Vancouver food tour on Granville Island British Columbia's mild climate and unique geographic location, tucked between mountains and sea, provide the province with an abundance of amazing culinary bounty which guests will explore on this in-depth 'Made in BC' Vancouver food tour on Granville Island. In the company of an experienced local chef or food writer (maximum six guests/docent), this 2.5 hour walk will get under the skin (or peel) of this fascinating and delicious world as intellectually curious guests tour the market, meet some of the local producers and taste their delicious wares. Please note: Include any dietary restrictions or allergies, and the docent will adapt accordingly, as there are several tastings of fish or seafood, and guests will need to make their own way to/from 126 Davie St. for the tour. 2. Wok Around Chinatown It's no secret that off-duty chefs love to shop for themselves and choose from the freshest local and exotic fruits, vegetables, seafood, and meats. Get to know this colourful district from a culinary and cultural perspective with 'A Wok Around Chinatown'. The adventure will begin at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Gardens, and will meander through the diverse specialty shops and vendors, featuring products from barbequed crispy ducks and teas, to herbal medicines and cookware supplies. A viewing of historical landmarks, a visit to a symbolic merchant, and a well-deserved dim sum lunch will be part of the tour! Please note: guests will need to make their own way to Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Gardens (578 Carrall St.) for the tour. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to explore Vancouver. Day 3: Vancouver to Kamloops

Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the coastal city of Vancouver to Kamloops, in the heart of British Columbia's interior. On today's journey you will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, through forests and winding river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains, to the desert-like environment of the BC Interior. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer travels along the shores of Kamloops Lake into Kamloops. Overnight in Kamloops.

Day 4: Kamloops to Lake Louise

Your journey continues east to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Travel across ranchlands, along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels that form part of the rich rail history of the Canadian Rockies. Highlights include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over Rogers Pass, the Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and, the glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Your rail journey ends in Lake Louise. Overnight in Lake Louise.

Day 5: Lake Louise to Lake Louise

Today, enjoy a full day tour along one of the most scenic highways in the world as you travel to Jasper National Park on the Icefields Parkway. The Columbia Icefield is one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle and one of the most accessible icefields in North America. At the Columbia Icefield Centre, time is provided for lunch (not included) after you have had a chance to experience the Columbia Icefield Glacier Adventure (admission included). Here you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier to learn more about its geological features. Afterwards, brief stops will be made at Bow and Peyto Lakes before arriving back in Lake Louise this afternoon. Tonight, surrounded by Canadian pine, fresh flowers, sparkling crystal, and the warm glow of the grand fireplace, the marriage of food and wine thrives. Day 6: Lake Louise to Banff

This morning explore beautiful Lake Louise on your own. After lunch, a half-day tour takes you into Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders including the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake, and a natural rock bridge that spans the Kicking Horse River. Afterwards, you will be transferred to Banff. Overnight in Banff.

Day 7: Banff to Banff

Today you will have an entire day to spend exploring Banff National Park on your own. Optional activities include soaking in the mineral pools at Upper Hot Springs, enjoying a nature walk on nearby mountain trails, visiting Banff's historic museums, cruising on Lake Minnewanka or playing a round of golf at The Fairmont Banff Springs. Tonight, you will relax in the luxurious atmosphere and take in incredible mountain views while enjoying Banff's finest dining experience at Eden, renowned for its delicately crafted French cuisine, influenced by fresh local ingredients. Today, enjoy a culinary tour of one of Calgary's neighbourhoods. Professional guides lead three hour small group walking/tasting tours, where you'll meet local chefs, restaurant owners, and food artisans while enjoying a delicious progressive meal filled with Alberta's best food, drink, fun and adventure. Along the way, the tour leader shares entertaining stories of the area's history, art and culture. Lunch is definitely included! The rest of the day is yours at leisure. Overnight in Calgary.
